Park View Alpacas originated in 1993.Ever since our inception, we at Park View Alpacas have
been adhering to our original goal:
To achieve this goal it has been necessary
to dedicate our support exclusively to the North American alpaca
industry.While other
breeders were attempting to “define the industry,” we have always
had our own definition.While others supported the alpaca importations and the South
American alpaca industry, we realized that, in order to adhere
to our goal of universal, predictable, and consistent quality,
it would be necessary to purchase only the best and only domestic-born,
documented North-American breeding stock.Fortunately, in regard to our breeding program and in the
show ring, our success has been spectacular.Indeed, our breeding program has rewarded us with remarkable
consistency in both color and quality of its production.
We have always emphasized conformation as a
factor of at least equal importance to fiber in our purchase and
breeding decisions.We
certainly feel these concepts have been paramount in our tremendous
success in the show ring, allowing us to produce what is beyond
a doubt one of the most award-winning alpaca herds in North America.Approximately fifty of our breeding females have won first
place awards in major shows around the country, with an abundance
of Grand Championships as well.Some of these fifty females have demonstrated their individual
consistency by winning as many as six major shows and as many
as seven Grand Championships!Our males have won first place, Grand Championships, Get-of-Sire,
Best Head, and even Herdsire of the Year, all with domestic-born
animals born on our ranch!All have known and documented pedigrees.All of this has been accomplished by supporting exclusively
our own North American alpaca industry.We truly have “All-American Alpacas!”
Park View Alpacas has no intention of relaxing.While many other ranches may have chosen to simply sit
back and sell the offspring of their current breeding stock, it
is our intention to continue to purchase optimal quality and to
improve, in any way possible, our future offspring.At the same time, we will be continuing our support of
our own North American Alpaca Industry.
When will it stop?We do not know! We continue to “climb the ladder” every
year, yet we do not feel we are near the top.Every year just keeps getting better!We are very excited about our accomplishments but even
more excited about our potential.Is there such thing as the “Ultimate
Alpaca?”Probably not, but we have every intention of making sure
the closest thing possible is born on our ranch!
